The 2010 Okanagan Spring Wine Festival kicked into high gear last night with Gourmet & Grapes – an Iron Chef smackdown at Kelowna’s Cabana Grille, featuring resident chef and operating partner Ned Bell and visiting chef Paul Cecconi from Summerland hotspot Local Lounge and Grille. (What’s with the GrillE thing, Okanaganites?)
It was a fast paced night, with a clutch of good food and Okanagan winery tasting stations that catered to a lively crowd. Top flavours of the night included CedarCreek 07 Merlot paired with a forest mushroom and roasted garlic phyllo purse, from the winery’s Patio Restaurant.
